WARNING! Lots of venting after the jump! If you would rather not read that then please enjoy this beautiful Rolls Royce Phantom!
So I logged into facebook today to find these two wonderful things.
Now I myself am not gay, however I have several friends who are gay and it pisses me off to no end that some fucking straight white people are on facebook talking about this shit! I have sat by one of my friends as they have cried their eyes out about being disowned by their own families because they just so happen to like someone of the same gender! Yeah black people had to deal with a lot more shit but that doesn't mean that gay people don't have to deal with a good bit of shit as well and a fucking straight white person should not fucking degrade their struggle for acceptance like that. This entire thing is fucking bullshit. I don't care what kind of religion you hide behind! This shit is hurtful and wrong!

You didn't read that Chick Fil A article, did you?
ETA: The two articles you listed are click bait. The first, about how Gays are not the new Black, was written by a Black man who was writing it from the perspective of a Black man. The second was an article about how Chick Fil A was giving out food during the South's ice storm.
I understand your rage, but please don't rage against "straight white people" because of two articles, one written by A Black guy, the other reporting that a fast food joint is giving food to stranded motorists.

I think there is a "filter" settting for FB for stuff like that. FB needs more cat GIFs and less this stuff.

My stance on gay marriage. Life is short, why do you give a fuck about who these people want to marry? Its not your life.
With that out of the way I'm just gonna weigh in on the Chick-fil-a thing. If I went to a Chick-fil-a, which I dont since I'm in the north and allergic to peanuts, I honestly wouldnt care about any of the religious shit their company supports. If I go there I would want a chicken sandwich, I dont want my chicken sandwich to have a political belief, I want it to be a damn chicken sandwich. Thats it.

I catch alot of religious crap on the old Facebook, but when I see anti gay/race/gender/etc I immediately unfriend. Go follow the real facebook GOD :) (which for some reason infuriates all of my so called religious friends) https://www.facebook.com/TheGoodLordAbo…

Bigoted whites, back in the segregation days and still today, felt/feel threatened by blacks. They thought they were going to steal their women and rape them. Bigoted straight people feel threatened by gays, thinking they are going to steal their children and rape them. It's laughable, but also pathetic. They can quote all the Old Testament scripture they want, but hatred of others doesn't seem like a very Christlike way of living one's life. Attitudes towards homosexuality are gradually changing, in spite (or because) of the best efforts of the homophobes out there. I hope my children will grow up in a time where homophobia will be a thing of the past.

Actually I did, it was about them giving food to people who were stuck in the snow. However the first part of it is written extremely condescendingly. Chick-Fil-A might not of done anything itself however they donated tons of money to charities that are famously anti-gay, one of which, the Georgia Family Council, is recognized as a hate group.

It's called "click bait". They wrote it that way for a reason.
Please read my "ETA".

My rage isn't against straight white people. It's against people who have never been prejudiced against in their life posting this shit. I don't care if it's click bait these people are posting it on their facebook which in my opinion is just as bad as them saying it.

No offense, but the purpose of the 2nd article was to sing the praises of Christian values, not just a fast food joint giving out food. It was written by a self described "Christian Conservative" and tried to tie a good deed to being Christian instead of just being a decent human being. I don't think all the other businesses that opened their doors, gave out food and water, and helped people did it for religious reasons.

I go to an extremely right wing school in Texas, I know how you feel. The worst part of it all is that they're so self righteous about it and can't accept that maybe there are people out there who don't want to see this shit.

I just hit unsubscribe. I've done so with two people on my Facebook feed, one kept spamming political vitriol, the other spammed horrendous memes. Both were countrymen of mine (I've noticed that I tend to get along better with foreigners when it comes to the internet).

The problem is that I'm friends with lots of cool people that live outside the country that I wouldn't be able to talk to otherwise.

If a magic book tells you to hate someone, you're pretty disposed towards being hateful in the first place. Yet as soon as you suggest maybe not forcing your imaginary friend into peoples lives, they're the ones being 'persecuted'....
